Thea Miller’s iconic designs in DRU Jewelry was born out of the desire to create meaning and make sense of life’s complexities. From icons and images that symbolize strength and have provided hope and solace, DRU Jewelry has evolved into a symbolic armor that empowers and encourages its wearer.
As a down-to-earth artist who forges award winning designer jewelry, Thea Miller shares some of her life’s facets with us.
Q: Describe your personal style
A: Tomboy chic with a bit of edge.
Q: What was the first piece you ever designed?
A: The first piece I designed for DRU. was the Gothic Cross.
Two Gothic Cross pendants, one set with white diamonds and one set with black diamonds, layered with "do no harm" and "love is love" pendants.
Q: Number of years in the biz?
A: 3
Q: Number of employees you oversee?
A: 0
Q: What about family and pets?
A: I’m single w/ no children and no pets. Heavenly, I know.
Q: What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
A: Stay in your lane.
Q: Worst piece of advice:
A: To use baby oil instead of sunscreen.
Q: What’s your scent?
A: I don’t wear perfume. I’m allergic to most of them. I wear an all natural lotion that I’m told smells good.
Q: Name five songs on your playlist:
A: I have a playlist of over 5000 songs that are on a constant random rotation. I’m almost always listening to music.
Q: Name five items on your desk right now:
A: An electric pencil sharpener. A loupe, a caliper, and ring sizers. My feet.
Q: What do you miss the most about your hometown?
A: I miss the 70’s and 80’s in the suburbs. Since I can’t travel back in time, there’s nothing I miss.
Q: What do you love the most about living in your current city?
A: The weather and being so close to the mountains and beach.
Thea currently lives in Southern California.
